About GirlTrek

GirlTrek is the largest national non-profit health organization that is seeking to inspire and support Black women and girls to live their healthiest and most fulfilled lives – simply by walking. GirlTrek was founded in 2010 by two friends and it’s free to join. It has become one of the country's most effective public health interventions.

To reach the largest gathering of Black women and girls, GirlTrek has launched a Special Impact Team focused on Black churches. Our goal is to be where Black women are and encourage and support them along the way. The ask is simple, start walking in the direction of your healthiest most fulfilling life.

We are inviting congregations to the pavement to walk with us and be counted, recognized, and rewarded.

Join us Saturday, October 21, as we support the the 2023 5K Run/Walk in Perth Amboy. Once the run/walk is over, either go on with your day, head over to the Health Fair at the Central Jersey Medical Center, or join the ladies of KLM for a light lunch and fellowship - we reserve the right to go with the flow!

About the Event

Join Mayor Helmin J. Caba, the Raritan Bay Area YMCA, and the Central Jersey Medical Center in the Fight Against Breast Cancer with a 5K Walk/Run and Health Fair. Free registration - no cost to participate!

Schedule:

• 9AM:  REGISTRATION/CHECK-IN for 5K WALK/RUN at the Brighton Avenue Community Center, located at 56 Brighton Avenue, Perth Amboy, NJ

• 10 AM: 5K WALK/RUN STARTS ON THE PROMENADE across from the Community Center

• 11 AM: Central Jersey Medical Center (CJMC) Health Fair begins OR join us for lunch at the church
